Graduation Requirements

In New York State, students are required to complete a minimum 22 units of credit in order to receive a diploma.  Within the New York State guidelines Students must fulfill units of credit as follows:

4 credits in English
4 credits in Social Studies
3 credits in Math
3 credits in Science
2 credits in Physical Education  (1/2 credit per year)
½ credit Health education
1 credit in a Language other than English
1 credit Art/Music
3 ½ elective credits
In addition to the above courses, students must satisfy N.Y. State testing requirements by meeting or exceeding a score of 65 on Regents Exams on the following 5 areas:
Global History
U.S. History and Government
Integrated Algebra or Geometry
Comprehensive English
One Science Exam (Living Environment or Earth Science)

Students meeting these requirements will receive a Diploma with a New York State Regents endorsement. 

Regents Diploma with Advanced Distinction
Students who wish to pursue advanced distinction must meet the above criteria and the following additional requirements:
Students must study a Language other than English for 3 units of credit or a 5 unit sequence in Art or Technology Education. 
Students must satisfy N.Y. State testing requirements by meeting or exceeding a score of 65 on Regents Exams on the following  8 or 9 exams depending on year of graduation:
Global History
U.S. History and Government
Integrated Algebra
Geometry 
Algebra 2 & Trigonometry
Comprehensive English
Living Environment
A second Science exam (Earth Science, Chemistry or Physics)
A Locally developed test in a Language other than English
