Hen Hud Junior Selected to Represent Section One at Student Leadership Conference

We are thrilled to recognize Addison Peskie, a Hendrick Hudson High School junior who competes on the Varsity Cheer team, for being selected to represent Section One at the NYSPHSAA Student Leadership Conference. Addison will be among a select group of student-athletes from across the state in attendance at the conference, which is scheduled for April 15-16 at the Hilton Albany.

Hendrick Hudson junior Addison Peskie was selected to attend the NYSPHSAA's Student Leadership Conference in Albany April 15-16, 2026.

“Addison took the initiative to apply for this incredible opportunity on her own, and her selection comes as no surprise to those who know her,” coach Nicole Curran said.

Addison applied for the conference hoping it would allow her to hone her leadership skills while representing her sport, her school and the section as a whole. She was one of just 20 student-athletes from Section One who were selected.

“I definitely felt a mix of emotions when I found out I was selected,” she said. “I am shocked, but also excited and a little nervous. I cannot wait for what’s to come.”

During the conference, Addison and her fellow attendees will listen to presentations related to leadership and the importance of service and participate in breakout sessions with other student-athletes from across New York State. The sessions are designed to practice leadership skills and much more, with the goal of providing student-athletes with tools they can take home to their own athletic communities.

Coach Curran believes Addison is the perfect fit.

“Addison is a natural leader in every sense,” coach Curran said. “She is someone who constantly puts the needs of her teammates before her own. Leadership is truly in Addison’s nature, which is shown through her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and unwavering support of others. She leads with heart and integrity and is always setting an example both on and off the mat. We are so proud of Addison and excited to see her represent Hen Hud and Section one with such grit and confidence!”
