Hendrick Hudson Students Join a Special Summit Designed to Empower Students

On Thursday, April 9, Hendrick Hudson High School participated in the virtual CODA YOU(th) Summit, coordinated by our Student Assistance Counselor, Ms. Abby Zenon. Students joined peers from across Westchester County for an inspiring day of learning and connection, which was introduced by special guest speakers Congressman George Latimer and NY State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins.

The YOU(th) Summit empowers students with foundational knowledge about co-occurring disorders—when mental health challenges and substance use issues occur together—and encourages informed decision-making, peer support, and awareness of available resources.

This year’s Summit also marks the launch of Westchester County’s new Co-Occurring Disorders Prevention Curriculum, developed through the County’s Opioid Response Initiative. Now integrated into Health and Physical Education classes and community programs, the curriculum provides a shared foundation for meaningful student engagement and leadership.

Together, these efforts strengthen CODA’s mission of supporting youth wellness, fostering understanding, and building healthier communities.
