Italian Honor Society Hosts First Bocce Tournament

During Italian Heritage and Culture Month, the Italian Honor Society at Hendrick Hudson High School celebrated by organizing a “Festa Italiana,” giving them an opportunity to come together, enjoy Italian specialties and celebrate Italian heritage and culture.

During the event, the students organized the first Bocce tournament. Bocce is a popular Italian bowling game. Many students participated and one student, Dominic Spatta, even brought his grandfather, Gino, to join the fun.

“The Bocce tournament was a great success,” teacher Antonietta Gliubizzi said. “It was amazing to see the community come together for this event, which will surely become a fixture in the Hen Hud celebrations of Italian Heritage and Culture Month.”

Aidan Lawless, Lucas Tangredi and Castalia Litos were the winners of the tournament.

“Our students and staff are looking forward to next year’s celebration,” Gliubizzi said.
