Two Hendrick Hudson Seniors Receive Chamber of Commerce Scholarships

During a breakfast at the Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center in Garrison on June 5, 2026, the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber Foundation awarded 11 students with $1,500 scholarships. Congratulations to Hendrick Hudson High School seniors Brody Marcus and Jack Hiltsley for being selected.

These two impressive Sailors were celebrated alongside students from Lakeland, Peekskill, Putnam Valley, Croton-Harmon, Walter Panas, Kennedy Catholic, and Yorktown High Schools — during the organization’s annual Foundation Scholarship Breakfast. Hendrick Hudson Superintendent of Schools Michael A. Tromblee and Hendrick Hudson High School Principal Lisa Martino Alves were in attendance for the presentation.

During the event, the Gateway Chamber Foundation awards eight academic and three vocational scholarships to seniors from the eight total schools who plan to pursue advanced-level education after high school. The scholarship winners are chosen based on academic record; leadership; extracurricular activities in the student’s school and community; honors, awards and recognitions received; and work experience.

The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber Foundation is the nonprofit affiliate of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce. Established in 2018, the mission of the Foundation is to develop and execute tactical solutions focused on strengthening the communities of the lower Hudson Valley Gateway region. This is done by providing programs and services promoting local tourism, by devising visitor information resource initiatives, by supporting higher education through scholarship awards, and by advancing sustainable workforce development.
